Truck Takes Down Cables In Kenilworth

A street in Kenilworth was temporarily closed Friday, Nov. 29 after a large truck struck multiple cables, leaving wires and debris scattered, the fire department said.

The incident occurred on South Michigan Avenue, where crews from Car 2 and Engine 63 of the KFD, along with Police Chief Campanelli and Kenilworth officers, responded to secure the area. Emergency teams raised the low-hanging wires, allowing the road to reopen shortly after.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert for potential hazards following similar incidents.
